Greenhouse gas inventory

The greenhouse gas inventory

With the supply of energy being of such central importance for society, there is a need for transparency. We feel obliged to play our part in this.

Axpo compiles a greenhouse gas inventory for the whole group in order to implement its sustainability policy consistently and in acknowledgement of its commitment to climate protection. The inventory provides a clear insight into the most important emission flows within the company. This serves as a basis for improvement targets, reduction and compensation measures.

There are two primary objectives to the greenhouse gas inventory:

  • Internal and external transparency about the most important emission flows
  • Basis for more far-reaching decisions in the areas of energy production and transmission, as well as in the ecology of the business.

The Axpo Group compiles its greenhouse gas inventory on the basis of ISO 14064 and has it certified independently. The greenhouse gas inventory will be published for the first time in early 2010 and will be updated and re-certified every year after that.
