Cooperation with the Swiss Alpine Club SAC

The Alps are unique, offering a rich diversity of species and spectacular natural landscapes. It's no wonder that more and more people enjoy spending time in them. This makes the work of the SAC all the more important. It is committed towards ensuring harmony and sustainability in the coexistence between people and nature in the mountains. For over a century the Swiss Alpine Club has worked unstintingly towards preserving the mountains and to promoting activities in the mountains which respect nature.

Axpo is also committed to preserving this equilibrium between using the Alps and safeguarding them. Axpo regards the mountains as its most important basis for producing electricity. After all, hydroelectric power accounts for 56% of electricity produced in Switzerland. As its cooperation partner, Axpo wishes to support the work of the SAC and tackle projects together with the Alpine Club that encourage people to treat the mountains with respect and care when they do activities there.
