Take care in the rivers and lakes!
The normal operation of hydro power stations can cause streams and rivers to swell instantly and rapidly, irrespective of the weather and the time of day. As a result, people standing in the riverbed can find themselves in mortal peril. Therefore, warning signs are displayed along these watercourses.
For your safety:
- Don't stand in the watercourses.
- Never try to canyon, river-raft or canoe there; never swim or play there either.
- If an accident occurs, call 144.
