Storage power station in Misox

In 2002 Axpo AG, which was formerly NOK, acquired 70% of the shares in the Lostallo-based Elin power stations, which had been built between 1956 and 1963 by the then Monteforno SA to cover its own requirements. The remaining 30% are held by the concession authorities. The power stations use the tributaries on the left of the Misox between Soazza and Grono in two independent stages with an output of 63 MW. The mean annual production is 170m kWh. The two reservoirs are mainly used for the purposes of daily compensation. The managerial mandate is held by Axpo Hydro Energy.
