Apprenticeship models at a glance
We support the model of a 1-year basic apprenticeship followed by three years of practical vocational training. The period of training will last a total of 4 years. You will spend the first year of your period of training at college, while years 2 to 4 will combine work experience in the business where you are doing your apprenticeship with lessons at college.
If you achieve good grades at college, you may get to complete your vocational college leaving certificate during your period of training. Our apprentices attend the BBB IT School in Baden (located opposite Axpo Informatik AG).
We support the following courses:
IT technician for System Technology
You will learn how to set up and maintain IT systems. You will install computers, servers, networks and rectify faults.
You will learn the basics of support during the first year and a half of your period of training. You will assist our support personnel on visits to the customer and repair the customer's problems on-site. Your duties will also include telephone support. Depending on your suitability, you will then be deployed in a specific technical department. You will then write a final practical paper (IPA = individual practical paper) in the fourth year of your apprenticeship with the aim of organizing a project or a job at the company yourself and performing it in the specified period of time. The IPA constitutes an important part of your final examination.
IT technician for Application Development
You will learn how to develop and update programs. You will analyze processes, functions and requirements for new software solutions. You will then create concepts, program and test the software.
You will familiarize yourself with the extensive world of Microsoft and SAP software in the various departments. Like your colleagues in System Technology, you will then write a final practical paper (IPA = individual practical paper) in the fourth year of your apprenticeship.
