15.08.2022 | Over 200 starters at the first obstacle course "CityStrongWoMan" in Baden

When there is a dam in the middle of the old town

It was crass, it was wet and it was fun: the motto of Switzerland's first @CityStrongWoMan in Baden did not promise too much. To be mastered, among other things: Hundreds of meters of altitude, water slide, Limmat water, several obstacles - and even an artificial dam, set up by Axpo, which was on board as a sponsor at the event.

"It was fun, but pretty tough," summed up Andrea Wallimann, Axpo employee and participant in the CityStrongWoMan Baden after her round. That was no exaggeration: jumping, sliding, diving, swimming - and running until the legs burned. That was on the program of the extreme obstacle course, which in this form is probably unique in Switzerland. Over a length of five or ten kilometers, the race went through the Limmat, down the slide in the terraced swimming pool, over muddy slopes and over hundreds of meters of altitude up the infamous stairs in Baden's old town. In addition, 17 obstacles awaited the more than 200 participants. Among the obstacles was a reconstructed dam wall in the middle of the city, set up by Axpo, one of the sponsors of the sports party.

Behind the sporting event is the Baden endurance sports specialist Grieder Sport, with the support of over 80 helpers, the city of Baden and regional sponsors. Special obstacle courses have a long tradition in Baden. Since 2019, Grieder has already organized four Strongmen. After Corona has interrupted the execution for two years, Grieder Sport launches a new series with the CityStrongWoMan.

Axpo employee Andrea Wallimann took second place in the five kilometer category

Axpo employees were able to take part free of charge, and around a dozen employees dared to take on the goal tour in Baden's old town. We acongratulate Andrea Wallimann, who took second place in the five kilometer category. By the way, already today mark in the agenda: On September 10, 2023 the next CityStrongWoMan will take place in Baden.
