Grids
The Grids division is responsible for distributing electricity at different voltage levels. NOK operates a 380/220 kV transmission grid for transporting large volumes of electricity over greater distances and a 110/50 kV distribution grid for cross-regional and a 16 kV grid for regional distribution.
Trading and Marketing
NOK's Trading and Marketing division is responsible for electricity trading, risk and portfolio management as well as providing services to customers in North-Eastern Switzerland via Axpo Vertrieb AG. In order to ensure that its power plant fleet is operated as economically as possible and to optimise the security of supply, NOK takes part in what is known as OTC trading (spot trading, over the counter).
