Axpo Vertrieb AG

Axpo Vertrieb AG is the marketing company of Nordostschweizerische Kraftwerke AG (NOK) and therefore responsible for customer service in North-Eastern Switzerland. It markets the electricity produced and procured by NOK in the core area. NOK and the cantonal utilities of North-Eastern Switzerland established the company in 1999 under the name of Axpo AG. In October 2004 it was renamed to Axpo Vertrieb AG and integrated as a subsidiary into the Trading and Marketing division of NOK, which deals with electricity trading and risk and portfolio management. NOK is Switzerland's leading electricity producer. It is part of the Axpo Group of companies that covers the whole value chain including production, trading, distribution, and grids. Axpo Vertrieb AG is the ideal partner for comprehensive power supply.

Fields of activity

Axpo Vertrieb AG is based in Zurich and has around 40 staff who develop and market electricity products and associated services for power plants, corporate clients and domestic customers and also offer other marketing services for the Axpo Group and the 400 end distributors in the core area. Customers include the five cantonal utilities of North-Eastern Switzerland (Aargau, Schaffhausen, St. Gallen/Appenzell, Thurgau, Zurich), which, in addition to supplying power within their direct supply area, also act as sales intermediaries for end distributors in adjacent areas, municipal utilities, and local end distributors in Glarnerland and March.
