Data privacy in job applications and the application process

Persons in charge of processing job applications collect and process the personal data of job applicants. Processing can also take place electronically. In particular, this is the case when an applicant provides the respective job application documentation electronically, for example via email to the responsible individual. If an employment contract is concluded with the applicant, the data provided is retained for the purpose of processing the employment relationship in compli-ance with legal provisions. If no employment contract is concluded with the applicant, the application documents are automatically deleted six months after notification of the rejection decision, in so far as no other justifiable interests contrary to deletion exist on the part of the individual in charge of processing.

Data disclosure

In principle, Axpo Holding AG does not disclose your personal data to third parties outside the company without your express consent. Axpo reserves the right to disclose your data to external companies or representatives in order to provide us with services and for the purposes mentioned above. These companies and representatives are under obligation to Axpo to use your personal data in compliance with the valid laws and our privacy policy. In addition, data is disclosed to third parties when required by the law, court orders, or public regulations. 

Rights to access, correct and contest

When we process your personal data, we strive to ensure that your data is used for the intended purpose and that it is correct and up-to-date through adequate measures. You have the right at any time to request written information at no cost regarding the personal data we have processed on you. Requests for information can be sent in writing to our postal address with a copy of your identity card or passport.

You also have the right to request the correction of inaccuracies as well as the restriction of processing the respective personal data. You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data in so far as we are not obligated or authorised to keep this data based on the valid laws and provisions. Data security

Data transmission to Axpo Holding AG website takes place over an open, cross-border network that is accessible to anyone. Transmission is not encrypted. Therefore the loss of transmitted data, viewing by third parties, or tracing the contact to Axpo Holding AG cannot be ruled out. Consequently your data could be disclosed or modified. Furthermore, data sent on the Internet can be transmitted across national boundaries, and hence through countries that do not have the same strict data privacy requirements as Switzerland, even when the sender and receiver are located in Switzerland. However, Axpo Holding AG has implemented security measures to protect data against unauthorised access and to ensure the authenticity of the website, data integrity, and the confidentiality of data transmitted over our private network (Intranet).

Access to personal data is restricted to those employees who require such information. They are under an obligation to respect the confidentiality of personal data.

Data retention

We retain your personal data in compliance with the Data Protection Act as long as needed for the purposes described here. The Federal Mail and Telecommunications Monitoring Act stipulates a legal retention obligation for connection data received over the last six months. The user can request that his/her content data be deleted by sending an email to info@axpo.com

Data transfer abroad

The Axpo Group produces, trades and sells energy in Switzerland, Europe and the USA. We can transmit your data to a database belonging to the Axpo Group outside your country of residence, and that may be located in a country that does not have the same strict data privacy requirements as your country of residence.

In order to guarantee the protection of your data, Axpo has implemented binding company rules and a set of internal rules and tools based on European data protection laws to protect privacy when personal information from the European Union (EU), Eurpoean Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland, as well as non-European countries, is transmitted. This set of agreements requires Axpo subsidiaries to observe the strict regulations of the EU data protection ordinance.
