E-world 2015: Axpo presents its origination services

16.02.2016 - Axpo is present at E-world in Essen again in 2016: The company is presenting its services as a pan-European player in the area of trading and origination at the most important meeting place for the European energy sector. Customers, partners, industry experts and trade media from all over Europe will be meeting at the spectacular Axpo Stand in Hall 3, at the very heart of E-world.

Europa’s leading trade fair for the energy and water industry awaits a record: Some 650 companies from 22 nations will be presenting their products and services at E-world this year. These include solutions in the area of energy generation, trading, transport, storage, energy efficiency and smart energy. The latter, in particular, has become an increasingly important topic at the fair: Intelligent, controllable grids, networked building technology, intelligent meters, and energy storage systems are the focus.

The most important energy sector decision-makers visit the fair in the Ruhr area and attend the convention, which includes 25 conferences, in order to gather information, make contacts and plan new deals. Over 20,000 visitors are expected. At E-world they have access to all the most important players at one location. Among these are leading German businesses such as RWE, EON, Uniper, EnBW and Vattenfall, as well as international players such as Shell, BP, GDF Suez, and Gazprom, major industrial concerns such as Siemens or Areva and – last but not least – various start-ups.

Axpo: More than simply present

The 2-story Axpo stand, strategically well placed in the centre of Hall 3, is an attraction again in 2016. Among insiders it is not just an eye-catcher at the fair, but also the first point of contact for innovative solutions in the area to trading and origination. This was clearly reflected by the crowds at the stand and in the Axpo Lounge on the first day. In addition to customers, partners and other interested parties, Axpo will also be able to welcome Walter Steinmann, Director of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE), here on the last day of the fair.

Over the past years, Axpo has consistently expanded the international origination business, offering individually tailored solutions for the marketing and procurement of power and gas, as well as energy. The company takes over the marketing of electricity for energy producers, manages the supply portfolios for SME’s, and enables major industrial customers to cover their energy needs.

Axpo’s E-world presence is not only a magnet for business partners and customers – numerous trade journalists take advantage of this opportunity to obtain information first hand. This year, Domenico De Luca, Head of Trading & Sales at Axpo, and Carsten Münch, Head of Axpo Germany, presented the media with the reasons why Axpo is continuously expanding the European Origination business.

Networked and successful throughout Europe

Striking: Although the energy market is currently undergoing radical change, more and more niche players are present at E-world in Essen – for example telecom companies. In Domenico De Luca’s opinion, this shows the continued great importance of the industry. „All the major players are represented at E-world in Essen. Axpo intends to have a strong presence here as well with an eye-catching, spectacular stand.“

Moreover, the fair is the ideal venue “to meet business partners quickly and easily,” says De Luca. For example, here he can arrange a business dinner with 15 people that, during the year, he would hardly be able gather together at one table without a huge organisational effort.

Axpo is one of the few players active on a pan-European basis and hence truly close to the customer: Today, the company is present in 25 European countries and active in 35 markets. Excellent risk management, clear customer-orientation, systematically driven innovation and flexibility, as well as successful positioning in market niches are the company’s winning formula and a benefit to Axpo customers.

Renewable energies play a vital role in this context: Through its subsidiaries in the individual countries, Axpo markets energy from plants with a total installed capacity of some 12,000 MW for its customers. This makes Axpo one of the leading marketers of renewable energies from European customer plants.
