Our local energy experts, supported by our headquarters functions in Switzerland and worldwide business in over 30 countries in Europe, the USA and Asia specialise in supply solutions, route-to-market and balancing services, long-term PPAs for renewables investments, as well as domestic and international wholesale trading and risk management.

We help to optimise the entire domestic electricity value chain, as well as being ideally positioned to access international and neighbouring country markets. As Greece accelerates its transition towards lower carbon energy, Axpo Greece is able to share experience gained from the Group’s proven track-record as innovators in renewable energy solutions across Europe, with a customer portfolio of 16,600 MW in Europe.

Meet the team in Greece

With more than 16 years’ experience in the global energy trading business, Vasileios has worked for European energy firms, including EDF and Gazprom. A graduate of the Athens University of Economics & Business and the London School of Economics, he started his career as an energy markets analyst at the advisory firm ICF International in London while, most recently, he headed the commercial and regulatory functions at ElecLink, the 1 GW merchant electricity interconnector between the UK and France.

Together with its partners, Axpo operates over 100 power plants. Our climate-friendly Swiss electricity mix consists of hydropower, biomass and nuclear energy and features very low CO2 emissions. As the largest producer of hydropower, and thanks to our investments in biomass and fermentation plants as well as small hydropower plants, we are the largest producer of renewable energies in Switzerland. Axpo supplies its customers with up to 3200 MW of capacity via a 2200-kilometre distribution network (110, 50 and 16 kilovolts).

Abroad, Axpo focuses on solar and wind energy and invests in technically and economically suitable locations. Our wind farm portfolio includes plants in France, Spain, Italy and Northern Europe. Axpo also holds an interest in the Global Tech I offshore wind farm in the German North Sea. Through its subsidiary Volkswind, Axpo also contributes its expertise to the planning, project planning and construction of wind farms. Through its subsidiary Urbasolar, Axpo is active in the entire solar energy value chain.
