It lies on the lower reaches of the Aare, is known for its diversity of bird species across the cantonal border and was created in the 1930s by the construction of the Klingnau power station: the Klingnau reservoir. As a local recreation and water bird sanctuary, it is a welcome excursion destination for young and old.
