Axpo signs PPAs with Mirova and Uriel for two new wind farms in Poland

Axpo has further strengthened its position in the Polish energy market by signings two power purchase agreements (PPAs) for new wind farm projects with Mirova Eolska and Uriel Renovables, it was announced today. The installations, currently under construction in Western Pomerania and Pomeranian Voivodeship, will have a combined installed capacity of around 165 MW.

Under the agreement, Axpo Polska will offtake all the electricity and Guarantees of Origin (GoOs) generated by two wind farms located in the villages of Bialy Bór and Dębnica Kaszubska in north-western Poland. Axpo will also provide balancing services and fixed price hedging for part of the wind farms’ production, as part of a pay-as-produced arrangement. In both cases, the PPAs cover the period from the commissioning of the projects until the end of 2024.

As one of the leading renewable energy marketers in the country, we’re able to support investors and producers when it comes to managing their plants and achieving maximum returns from their projects. PPAs like these can make a significant contribution to the expansion of renewable energy in Poland.”

The wind farm located in Bialy Bór, Western Pomerania, will consist of 42 wind turbines (Vestas V126 - 3.45MW) with a total installed capacity of approximately 144.9 MW, producing an average of 364.1 GWh per year. The project is owned by French asset and investment manager Mirova Eolskaand the Spanish renewable energy developer Uriel Renovables S.A..
