Axpo in Switzerland
Together with its partners, Axpo operates over 100 power plants. Our climate-friendly Swiss electricity mix consists of hydropower, biomass and nuclear energy and is characterised by a very low CO2 value. As the largest producer of hydropower, and thanks to its investments in biomass and fermentation plants, as well as small hydropower plants, Axpo is by far the largest producer of renewable energies in Switzerland.

Axpo international
Abroad, Axpo focuses on wind power and solar energy and invests in technically and economically suitable locations. Our wind farm portfolio includes plants in France, Spain, Italy and Germany. Axpo also holds an interest in the Global Tech I offshore wind farm in the German North Sea. Since the summer of 2015, Volkswind GmbH also belongs to Axpo as a 100% subsidiary. Since then, Axpo has contributed its expertise to the planning, project planning and construction of wind farms. The new subsidiary Urbasolar, based in Montpellier, France, is responsible for the planning, construction and operation of solar power systems. Since the summer of 2019, it serves Axpo as a platform for strategic expansion in the field of solar energy.
