Axpo Holding AG: Carmen Walker Späh appointed to the Board of Directors

22.01.2016 - The extraordinary Axpo Holding AG General Meeting of 22 January 2016 appointed Carmen Walker Späh to the Board of Directors as a representative of the Canton of Zurich. She replaces former Government Councillor Martin Graf.

The Government Council of the Canton of Zurich is entitled to two seats on the Board of Directors of Axpo Holding AG. In addition to Government Councillor Markus Kägi, who is responsible for the energy dossier and the Head of the Building Department, Carmen Walker Späh will now represent the Canton of Zurich in her capacity as the Head of the Department for Economic Affairs.

Carmen Walker Späh has been a Government Councillor and the Head of the Department for Economic Affairs of the Canton of Zurich since 18 May 2015. Before being elected to her post as the Head of the Department for Economic Affairs, Carmen Walker Späh was a member of the cantonal parliament for 13 years and, among other things, an active member of the Constitutional Council for five years.

Carmen Walker Späh, a member of the FDP, was born in Altdorf (UR) in1958 and studied law at the University of Zurich. After completing her degree, she worked in various functions, among others, in a managerial capacity for the Building Department of the city of Winterthur. From 2000 to 2015 she had her own law practice specialising in public and private building law.

Carmen Walker Späh is married and the mother of three adult sons.
