24.02.2026 | Axpo has successfully issued a Schuldschein loan in the amount of EUR 150 million. The transaction, initially launched at EUR 100 million, was significantly oversubscribed due to strong demand from international banks. It follows the company’s previous successful issuance of a EUR 600 million Schuldschein loan in 2022.
More than 20 international investors participated in the transaction, which consists of two tranches with maturities of up to seven years. Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including investments in new and existing energy assets and facilities.
Axpo Group CFO Harald Gauck said: "This successful transaction and its strong oversubscription demonstrate the market's continued confidence in Axpo. The broad participation highlights the investor appetite for our credit profile. We're deploying these proceeds strategically to efficiently fund our growth investments while maintaining a resilient capital structure."
A Schuldschein loan (certificate of indebtedness) is a privately placed debt instrument, often described as a hybrid between a traditional bilateral loan and a bond. It is primarily used for long-term financing.
