Axpo acquires Lonza as a major gas customer

30.06.2016 - Axpo has acquired Lonza as a major customer. Based on the contract, Axpo will handle the services necessary for the natural gas supply to Lonza’s production facilities in Visp. The contract begins on 1 January 2017 for a period of 3 years.

Lonza is a major gas customer in Switzerland and a worldwide, leading provider of products for the pharmaceutical, healthcare and life sciences industry. Axpo prevailed against many domestic and international market players in the tender process. „Axpo convinced us of its vast know-how in the gas and energy business during the negotiations. The crucial factor was the intelligent implementation of our needs in an attractive offer,“ says Andreas Imstepf from the energy management department at Lonza AG.
