At Axpo, we are constantly working to create solutions that shape a sustainable future and respond to market needs. This is why we have developed a product for the energy offtake from photovoltaic installations combined with an energy sales contract.
Electricity production is not reserved only for large entities. Your company, too, can produce electricity from renewable energy sources and sell the surplus under an energy offtake contract. In times when the environmental transition is accelerating, renewables are an attractive investment area.
PV installations below 50 kW
The energy offtake value is the total volume of energy produced multiplied by the average spot (exchange) price, calculated once per quarter for the hours from 7:00 to 18:59, and, depending on the selected settlement cycle, multiplied by the appropriate coefficient:
The energy offtake value is determined and paid quarterly and equals the sum of volumes calculated for each 15‑minute interval, multiplied by the balancing market price applicable in that interval.

No, it is necessary to conclude or already have an energy sales contract with Axpo for the same point of delivery and period for which you want to conclude an energy offtake contract.
The following conditions must be met:
Data regarding the amount of energy offtaken from the installation (i.e. energy fed into the grid at a given metering point) will be provided to us by the distribution system operator (DSO).
Sometimes the DSO sends meter readings with a delay; in such cases, our settlement may also be issued later. We kindly ask for your patience, as DSO data are essential for energy offtake settlements.
Two settlement cycles apply: quarterly and annual. Depending on the selected settlement cycle, you are required to issue once a year (in April) or each quarter a VAT invoice or another accounting document (a document not subject to VAT) to Axpo for the electricity offtaken by Axpo.
We will provide the necessary details for issuing the invoice by email. If you settle on a quarterly basis, settlements for the previous quarter will be provided at the end of the following quarter.
Independently of this, you must continue to pay invoices for electricity purchased from Axpo in accordance with the provisions of the electricity sales agreement.
In such cases, we kindly ask you to inform us about the change in the installation capacity, which will allow us to properly forecast and settle the offtaken energy.
The capacity change can be reported via the Customer Portal at mojeaxpo.pl or by email at odkupy@axpo.pl.
Yes. Negative prices are included in the average spot price, which is calculated once per quarter.
In this hourly range, 99% of the energy generated by PV installations in Poland is generated.
It is a risk coefficient that covers the difference between forecasted production and the actual energy produced. The coefficient varies depending on the settlement period: 0.9 for annual settlements and 0.85 for quarterly settlements.
The exchange (spot) price refers to the TGeBase electricity price index at FIXING I on the Day-Ahead Market of the Polish Power Exchange (Towarowa Giełda Energii, TGE). This price can be checked on the TGE website under the Quotations (Notowania) tab.
The balancing market is a technical market in which the transmission system operator sells/purchases energy on an ongoing basis to balance the difference between actual grid demand and forecast demand.
The transmission system operator – that is, the company Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A. – publishes prices daily on its website.
