Axpo and e-STORAGE agree their first joint battery project in Italy

Axpo and Canadian Solar Inc. subsidiary e-STORAGE have agreed to develop an 8 MW/40 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in southern Italy, it was announced today. Construction at Axpo’s Rizziconi power plant in Calabria is due to begin end of 2026, with deliveries of electricity to the grid expected early 2028.

Axpo and R.Power sign the largest optimisation BESS deal in Central and Eastern Europe

Axpo and R.Power have signed another multi-year contract to optimise operation of a large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) in Poland. The new 300 MW/1,200 MWh facility will be constructed in Dzięgielewo, Mazovia province, increasing the flexibility of Poland’s power system. The long-term agreement between the companies currently represents the largest deal of its kind for a single project in Central and Eastern Europe, and one of the largest in Europe.

Axpo and R.Power sign long-term deal to optimise energy storage facility

Axpo and R.Power, one of Europe’s leading independent renewable energy producers, have signed an optimisation services agreement for one of Poland’s largest battery energy storage systems. The project is being developed in Jedwabne, northeastern Poland.
