Axpo signs route-to-market contract to support cPPA between Auchan and GoldenPeaks Capital

The contract signed by Axpo will help power French multinational Auchan’s retail network in Poland, it was announced today. The agreement supports a long-term corporate power purchase agreement (cPPA) between Auchan and GoldenPeaks Capital. Under the cPPA, approximately 115 gigawatt hours (GWh) of green electricity will be supplied annually from solar farms owned by GoldenPeaks Capital, helping Auchan achieve its sustainability commitments.

In its first investment in Poland, Axpo has acquired a plant in Western Pomerania which produces green energy mainly from agricultural waste, it was announced today. Axpo Polska has signed a PPA with Akuo for the offtake of energy from a wind farm in Poland’s Silesia region. The plant, located in Wielowieś, has a total installed capacity of 66 MW and is expected to produce around 220 GWh of green energy a year.

Axpo Polska has signed a new power sales contract with Heidelberg Materials Polska, a leader in the Polish cement market and one of the country’s largest producers of ready-mixed concrete and aggregates, it was announced today. The deal covers the purchase of electricity for all Heidelberg’s Materials concern production sites in Poland, which includes, among others, one of the Górażdże facilities – the largest cement plant in Europe.
