Here at Axpo, we employ more than 5,000 staff in 140 different roles in more than 30 countries in Europe, the USA and Asia. They and their energy – especially throughout the pandemic – are the basis for Axpo’s success. They have shown commitment, flexibility and innovation, ensuring that the power plants and grids continued to function, guaranteeing the upkeep of nuclear power plants under special circumstances and ensuring that energy trade throughout Europe generated outstanding results. In brief: using agile working methods and interdisciplinary teams, they found innovative solutions for a secure and sustainable energy supply.
International growth
Established in Switzerland over 100 years ago, Axpo is gradually strengthening its position as an international energy company. Of its approximately 5,300 employees, 1,300 work outside Switzerland – that’s 200 more than in the previous year. In many countries it is expanding its activities in renewable energies, trading and customer business. One striking example of this is in France. Axpo subsidiary Urbasolar has increased its staff base by roughly 30% every year since 2017 – the com-pany now employs 340 people. Axpo France, the French branch of Axpo, has also undergone rapid growth: since the start of 2021, the number of employees has almost doubled to 16 full-time equivalents.
