KLL with significant increase in production

Share

16.1.2023 - The Board of Directors of Kraftwerke Linth-Limmern AG (KLL) has approved the report and accounts for the 2021/22 business year for the attention of the General Meeting. KLL's power plants produced 1.85 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in the reporting year and were thus once again an important pillar for security of supply in Switzerland.

The KLL power plants Muttsee, Limmern, Hintersand and Tierfehd produced around 1.85 billion kilowatt hours of electricity at the disposal of the partners in the 2021/22 financial year. This is slightly more than in the previous year (1.59 billion kWh) and corresponds to the consumption of around 410,000 four-person households. KLL's flexible power plants thus made an important contribution to a stable Swiss electricity supply in a tense supply situation.

In the year under review, KLL's pumped storage plants drew 2.12 billion kilowatt hours of electricity for pumping operations. The annual costs charged to the partners rose by a good 10 per cent to CHF 195.04 million, which is primarily due to the higher utilisation of the power plants (energy and grid utilisation expenses).

In the 2021/22 financial year, around 5,000 people visited the facilities of the Limmern pumped storage plant - significantly more than in the previous year (2,400 people). No tours took place between December 2021 and March 2022 due to the corona pandemic.

Kraftwerke Linth-Limmern AG is a partner plant of Axpo and the canton of Glarus. Axpo holds 85 percent of the shares, the canton of Glarus 15 percent.
