KLL increased production significantly

The Board of Directors of Kraftwerke Linth-Limmern AG (KLL) today approved the financial statements for the 2019/20 financial year and passed them for the attention of the Annual General Meeting on March 18. KLL's power plants produced significantly more electricity in the year under review than in the previous year.

The Muttsee, Limmern, Hintersand and Tierfehd power plants produced 1.71 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in fiscal 2019/20. This corresponds to the consumption of 380,000 average four-person households and is significantly more than in the previous year (1.49 billion kWh). Most of the energy came from the storage power plants (96.6 percent) - only a small part from the run-of-river power plants (3.4 percent). KLL's pumped storage power plants drew a total of 1.84 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in the year under review.

Thanks to increased production, KLL's production costs fell to 7.9 Swiss cents per kilowatt hour (previous year: 8.5 Rp/kWh). In contrast, annual costs charged to partners rose by 11.8 percent to 184.43 million Swiss francs, mainly due to the higher volume of purchased energy used for pumping.

In the year under review, a good 3200 people visited the facilities of the Limmern pumped storage plant. This is significantly less than in the previous year (6600 people). Due to the Corona pandemic, visitor tours were suspended from the beginning of March to the end of June.
