Axpo increases syndicated unsecured credit facilities to EUR 5.3 billion

11.10.2022 - Axpo has closed an additional syndicated, committed and unsecured credit facility of EUR 2.3 billion with an international bank consortium, increasing its syndicated credit lines with banks to a total of EUR 5.3 billion.

Axpo Holding AG (Axpo) has signed an additional unsecured credit facility of EUR 2.3 billion with an international bank consortium. The new facility has a 1 year tenor and can be extended unilaterally by Axpo for an additional year. Together with the sustainability-linked committed revolving credit facility agreed in February 2022, since increased to EUR 3.0 billion, Axpo’s syndicated credit facilities have reached EUR 5.3 billion. These credit facilities are flexible, can be used for both bank guarantees and loans, and are available to the company for general corporate purposes.

Announcing the new credit facility, Axpo Group CFO Joris Gröflin explained: "The syndicated credit facilities are an important component of our financing portfolio, alongside capital market transactions in Switzerland and abroad and our bilateral credit lines. We were able to increase these almost tenfold to more than EUR 5 billion in the current year and added more than 20 new banks to the portfolio. This allows us to further expand our financing capacity in an extremely challenging market environment."
