Beznau nuclear power plant: Unit 2 refuelling postponed

28.06.2016 - Refuelling of the Beznau nuclear power plant (KKB) Unit 2 has been postponed from the end of June to the beginning of August. This measure has been instituted in order to plan and optimise certain plant components.

The Federal Nuclear Safety Inspectorate ENSI has been informed of the refuelling postponement. Since the fuel elements have been in operation longer than foreseen, the performance of the power plant will gradually decrease from 365 to 300 megawatts until the start of the scheduled refuelling on Friday, 5 August 2016.
