Löntsch hydroelectric power station Guided tours

Visit the birthplace of Axpo at the foot of Mount Wiggis and enjoy the Glarus mountain panorama combined with an unforgettable guided tour.

Löntsch power station: hydroelectric power since 1908

Visit the birthplace of Axpo (formerly NOK) at the foot of Mount Wiggis. The tour starts at the museum. After a brief introduction, the factory cable car takes you up to the water castle, where you can see the safety throttle valve and enjoy the wonderful Glarus mountain panorama. The tour then continues through the switchgear of the substation and via the cable duct to the ball valves of the power station. Following the path of the water, the tour ends with a visit to the control centre. Finally, there is still some time left to admire the over 100-year-old turbine with generator in the museum. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours.
