Measurement of earthing systems
In the event of a malfunction, high voltages can occur even on earthed elements in the area of high-voltage systems. A professional earthing measurement confirms the legally prescribed personnel safety of the systems. In the event of problems, measures to improve safety are proposed. Axpo also checks the quality of earthing conductor connections with precise resistance measurements. This ensures that residual currents are safely diverted.
Measurement of line impedances
Faults on a medium, high or extra-high voltage line can be detected with correctly set protective devices and the corresponding plant components can be selectively switched off. This reduces failures to a minimum. In order to minimise the risk of incorrect switching off or not switching off, precise line impedance values are essential. A measurement can be used to determine the values for good parameterisation of the protective devices.
