Field calculations and measurements

Electrical devices and systems generate electrical and magnetic fields, also known as electromagnetic fields. Axpo offers services in the field of electromagnetic fields for companies and private customers.

Here's what we offer:

  • Planning for overhead lines and cable routes for smooth approval procedures
  • Field calculation for overhead lines, cable lines and substations (primary systems, transformers, control panels)
  • Preparation of cross profiles for planning approval procedures
  • Project support with regard to the Ordinance on Protection against Non-Ionising Radiation (NISV)
  • On-site measurements of magnetic fields including measurement report

Ordinance on Protection against Non-Ionising Radiation (NISV)

The NISV regulates the limitation of emissions from electric and magnetic fields generated during the operation of fixed installations. These limits are set to protect the population. The NISV concerns, among other things, buildings near overhead lines, cable lines, overhead contact lines, substations and communication transmitters. The value of the field strengths can be determined with stimulation and measuring devices and allows an assessment of the load.
