Tour of the Central Interim Storage Facility Würenlingen (ZWILAG)

Are you particularly interested in the topic of radioactive waste?

At the Würenlingen interim storage facility, the waste is temporarily stored in massive steel containers weighing up to 150 tons. These also serve as transport containers.

On a tour of the Würenlingen interim storage facility, you will learn interesting facts about the origin, processing and interim storage of radioactive waste – and about the challenge of disposing these materials safely and in an environmentally friendly manner.

Zwilag and Axpo

Axpo is a partner of Zwilag Zwischenlager Würenlingen AG. The purpose of the company is the operation of disposal facilities and the provision of interim storage capacities for radioactive waste in Würenlingen. Guided tours of the central interim storage facility are carried out by the Axporama team.
