Axpo Hydro Digital — Here to Stay
This fall, we were on the road with a clear goal: to position Axpo as a service partner, software provider, and expert in digital hydropower. Under the motto “Here to stay,” we presented our solutions and experience on multiple stages: at vgbe in Turkey, HYDRO in Thessaloniki, the Energy and Environment Days in Mals, and the hydrosuisse Hydropower Conference in Olten, each time with a technical presentation and direct dialogue with operators.
A highlight was our booth at HYDRO in Thessaloniki. The market for software development in hydropower is distinctly competitive, something that was clearly visible there. Our advantage: we develop “from the industry, for the industry,” and we use our tools ourselves, day in and day out across our 58 plants. More than 100 years of experience in operations, maintenance, and safety flow directly into our solutions. We understand the real challenges operators face, from data quality and system integration to what is perhaps the biggest success factor: bringing employees along on the digital journey. The on-site feedback was clear: our pragmatic, operator-first approach is generating interest.
Our ambition remains: when people think “digital hydropower,” they should think Axpo, just as naturally as Elmex is associated with dental care. To achieve this, we’re focusing on consistent presence through talks, use cases, and live demos, and on close collaboration with our colleagues in maintenance, who work at the machines every day. For 2026, we’re sharpening our story with numbers: where do we save concretely? How much more efficient do processes become? Which downtimes can be avoided? We are currently preparing these KPIs using real operational data and reference applications.
Thank you to all the teams in the field, at the booths, and on stage. We are here to stay, with solutions that work because they have grown out of real, day-to-day plant operations.
From Hydro, for Hydro.
