Beznau nuclear power plant: Unit 1 back on line

06.08.2019 Unit 1 of the Beznau nuclear power plant (KKB) was resynchronised with the grid around midday and electricity production was resumed. Last night, a fault in the Beznau substation - probably due to lightning strike - triggered a rapid shutdown of unit 1. The system reacted as designed. The safety of the employees and the population was guaranteed at all times.
