About the plant
Axpo and its local partner Rhiienergie built a hydrogen production plant at the Reichenau hydropower plant in Domat/Ems in 2023. The plant produces up to 350 tonnes of green hydrogen per year and is the largest of its kind in Switzerland to date. The inclusion of hydrogen in the energy mix will help to strengthen security of supply.
