Axpo power plants in Misox safe and partially operational
24.06.2024 Six Axpo Group hydropower plants are also affected by the flood situation in Misox GR. They have been shut down in a controlled manner over the last few days. All six hydropower plants and their reservoirs are in a safe condition and partially operational. They will be recommissioned at the appropriate time and in consultation with the authorities.
The power plants affected by the flooding are OIM (Officine Idroelettriche di Mesolcina SA), Calancasca SA and ELIN (Elettricità Industriale SA). Axpo also operates the small power plant of Idro Arvigo AG and its own small power plant of Tecnicama AG on behalf of BKW and the municipality of Calanca. All power plants were taken out of operation in a timely and controlled manner in the last few days. All the power plants of Officine Idroelettriche Mesolcina and Calancasca AG suffered only minor damage. They are in a safe condition and ready for operation. They will be recommissioned at the appropriate time and in consultation with the authorities.
The facilities and reservoirs of Elettricità Industriale SA are also in a safe condition, but have suffered damage and can only be put back into operation once they have been repaired.
