Bologna Congress Center, Bologna, Italy

HYDRO 2026 brought the international hydropower community together in Bologna. Axpo joined the Swiss Pavilion with its own stand, where our experts gave a series of short presentations during the conference breaks.

Under the theme “Maximise hydropower value,” we showed how Axpo supports hydropower assets throughout their lifecycle, helping operators improve performance, maintain reliability and protect long-term asset value. Axpo covered the topics: 

  • Operations and maintenance, keeping plants reliable, available and well maintained
  • Engineering, supporting the technical development and optimisation of hydropower assets
  • Digitalisation, making plant operations more connected, transparent and future-ready
  • Asset management, informing investment and maintenance decisions while safeguarding asset value over the long term
  • Management & Sales, helping bring generated electricity successfully to market
  • Hydrone, supporting the safe, efficient and compliant use of drones at hydropower plants and other critical infrastructure sites

 

Just as memorable as the technical discussions were the conversations themselves. We enjoyed meeting visitors from across the sector, catching up with familiar faces and making new connections. The conference programme and informal exchanges also offered fresh perspectives on the topics shaping hydropower today.
