Hydro & Biomass Division: Viktor Lir to succeed Jörg Huwyler

Viktor Lir, Head of Asset Management for Hydro & Biomass, has been appointed as the new Head of the Hydro & Biomass Division of Axpo. He will take up his new post on 1 January 2027. Until then, Jörg Huwyler will continue to lead the division. Huw-yler will then complete ongoing projects before taking ordinary retirement in mid-2027.

Axpo today inaugurated its first wind farm in Finland. Located in the municipality of Vörå, the Lålax facility was officially opened at a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the presence of Finland’s Minister for European Affairs, Joakim Strand.

Axpo feeds solar energy into the German grid for the first time

Axpo is pressing ahead with its expansion in the German renewable energy market: the ground-mounted solar power plants in Borgdorf-Seedorf (30 MWp) and Eisendorf (15 MWp) have been operational since May. With these projects, the Swiss energy company is demonstrating its expertise in the expansion of renewable energy and supporting the energy transition in Germany.
