Beznau nuclear power plant: Unit 1 back on grid after revision

Beznau Nuclear Power Plant (KKB) has completed the revision of Block 1 on schedule. The Swiss Federal Nuclear Safety Inspectorate (ENSI) has issued approval for the resumption of operations. KKB 1 thus enters a new operating cycle and makes an important contribution to ensuring Switzerland's safe supply of electrical energy.

Islas Regulating Reservoir: Main Renovation Work begins in June

Albula-Landwasser Kraftwerke AG (ALK) is currently renovating the Islas regulating reservoir, investing approximately 5.3 million Swiss francs in the project. The reason for this is progressive damage to the reservoir’s waterproofing. After ALK carried out various preparatory works in the summer of 2025, the actual rehabilitation work on the regulating reservoir will begin in early June.

Axpo inaugurated 200 MWp solar complex in Spain

The Vilecha solar complex in north-western Spain was officially opened by Axpo on 7 May 2026. The large-scale facility comprises four major photovoltaic plants with a combined capacity of 200 megawatts peak (MWp). The largest solar complex in the Axpo Group, Vilecha covers 310 hectares and began feeding renewable electricity into the Spanish grid in February 2026.
