22.01.2024 - The Board of Directors of Aarekraftwerk Klingnau AG (AKA) has approved the annual report and accounts for the 2022/23 financial year for submission to the Annual General Meeting. Electricity production increased by around 15 per cent compared to the previous year.
Aarekraftwerk Klingnau produced around 191 million kilowatt hours of electricity for its partners in the 2022/23 financial year. This is around 15 per cent more than in the previous year and corresponds to the consumption of around 42,000 four-person households. The increase in production is due to hydrological conditions. In a long-term comparison, the Aare carried around 11 per cent less water. In the previous year, the volume of water was even lower at around 30 per cent below the long-term comparison. On a total of 32 days, more water flowed than the power plant could turbinate (previous year: 7 days).
The annual costs charged to the partners totalled CHF 11.3 million in the reporting year (previous year: CHF 8.2 million). This corresponds to production costs of 5.92 centimes per kilowatt hour (previous year: 4.97 centimes per kilowatt hour).
An important milestone in the fulfilment of the concession requirements was reached in the reporting year with the acceptance by the canton of the replacement and compensation measures planned as part of the concession renewal.
Aarekraftwerk Klingnau AG is a partner plant of Axpo and AEW Energie AG. Axpo holds 60 per cent of the shares and AEW Energie AG 40 per cent.
