With the experience gained from the Hydro 4.0 pilot project, Axpo Hydro Digital offers a complete service portfolio for the digital transformation of hydropower plants. The portfolio includes analytics, workforce, infrastructure and robotics.
The service offering for hydropower plants starts with consulting and covers the implementation to the operation / support of the digital solutions. The same team is responsible for providing competent and customer-oriented handling throughout all phases.
Further services in the field of robotics are currently being developed at Axpo and will expand the service portfolio once the "robotics@hydro" pilot project is completed.
"Collect technical and commercial data from hydropower plants, make it easily accessible, and use it for analysis."
The goal of Analytics is to obtain the technical and commercial data of the hydropower plants from various sources and to store it in high resolution over the long term. On the one hand, simple and reliable access to the data supports employees in making data-based decisions (self-service) and, on the other hand, provides a solid data basis for the development of effective data science modules or business dashboards.
This allows transparent and comprehensible decisions to be made with data at all levels.
"Provide end-to-end digital support for the operational processes associated with operation and maintenance of hydropower plants."
Workforce Services simplifies and facilitates the daily work of employees in the power plants - from management and team leaders to the technical execution of maintenance.
Thanks to easy-to-use mobile applications, employees quickly find their way around and can concentrate on their essential electrical, mechanical and structural tasks. This creates added value both for the operators, such as higher system availability at lower costs, and for the employees: modern tools offer an attractive workplace, less administration and an attractive environment for the care and maintenance of the power plants.
"Equipping the teams in the hydropower plants with mobile devices and secure communication infrastructure to enable the digital way of working."
To ensure a modern and safe working environment, it is essential to equip power plant employees with mobile devices and to expand the associated modern voice-data network. The two infrastructure services "Mobile Basics" and "Communication Infrastructure" form the basement for the digital transformation of hydropower.
The following five reasons argue for an investment in a well-developed and reliable infrastructure: safety at work, secure and efficient operation, reduction of operating costs, being ready for tomorrow's opportunities, and no young talent without modern tools. Details and context can be found here.
"Expanding the perspectives of power plant employees with advanced technologies."
Robotics offers tools for the "digital" toolbox that simplify the daily work of employees and make it safer.
With the help of drones you can from a safe distance obtain an overview of the danger situation, e.g. avalanche slopes or rocky outcrops, avalanche slopes, landslides, and the quantity of snow can be monitored for possible work. Furthermore, the plant site can be inspected via control flights.
